It combines old-school electromechanical design with solid-state technology that was just emerging in the ’70s. This game is using a combination of technologies. The popularity of Midway Duck Hunt was so high, that Midway Manufacturing initiated the second release of the game in 1973. When the goose gets hit, it drops from the sky. The last target is a very cool flying goose that goes up and down and side to side. Other targets you can shoot are the Wiley woodpecker that hides behind a stump. The first thing the player will shoot is swimming ducks that travel across the front line. The shotgun is using a light beam to trigger photocells on the moving ducks, pecking woodpeckers, and flying goose.
